"We are experiencing a period of family meltdown, whose effects will be more catastrophic than the meltdown of the ice caps... Human civilization has created not one but multiple threats to its own survival by destruction of family. The family is the first building block composed of individuals. The stability of the family determines the strength and survival of the societies. When the family comes apart, a civilization unravels.

Family is important because we need a group of loyal supporters. Who can love us more selflessly then our own mother or father, who sacrificed for so many years to raise us? A family full of loving and caring members can make your life heaven, while an abusive family can make you see hell on earth.We need a family and that family needs us.

Leaving aside the exceptions, family acts as a safe cocoon for an individual, where he can find love when the whole world has rejected him. They accept you with your mistakes and weaknesses and still love you. You will never ever be able to find a substitute for the love of a mother, a father, a wife, a child or a sibling.

There is a hostile attack against the family and against the institution of marriage to eradicate morals, marriage, manhood, womanhood, fatherhood, motherhood and from our minds and hearts. As if there is a designed plot to destroy the family with hidden agendas and dark motivations `Destroy the family and you destroy the country.` on a global scale. There are some movements that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children and so on…

Marriages come apart and the family disintegrates. We hear of a 50% divorce rates. Shelterless children today, who are literally turned out on the streets. They are one of the greatest social dangers of the present time, because they are developing into professional criminals.

Children of divorce are more likely to commit crimes, abuse drugs, suffer mental and physical ill health, do poorly in school and become marginally employed adults. And we see the statistics pointing to the criminal rate of children, being raised in fatherless homes, significantly greater than children with a father. Children return from schools to empty homes. The television takes the space that was once occupied by the grand parents.

In brief, the weakening and disappearance of traditional support systems for the family is one of the greatest threats to human civilization. Individual is thrown back to his own wits to to survive the storms of life. He is like a tree that stands on a single root. A single waft of turbulence from a strong wind knocks it down. In the global village, where civilizations interact and learn from each other, we have a unique opportunity to make a contribution towards the preservation and sustenance of human civilization by strengthening the family. The stability and permanence of the family will be the ultimate indicator of the survival of our civilization.
